DCI Data Centers (DCI), a wholly owned portfolio company of Brookfield, is pleased to announce the commencement of construction of our first world-class data center in Seoul, South Korea.

This project reaffirms DCI’s strategy to progressively expand its Asia-Pacific data center platform and demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to bring industry leading and scalable digital infrastructure to the market. This Seoul data center will be built under a strategic Joint Venture with Daelim Co Ltd., a leading and well established South Korean conglomerate, with expertise ranging from real estate development to engineering and construction. DCI’s first data center in South Korea will be built to the latest industry leading standards, leaning on DCI’s in-house design suited for hyperscale customers and high-compute deployments.

Nicholas Toh, CEO of DCI, stated, “Building our first Asian data center in Seoul is a crucial step in DCI’s targeted Asia expansion strategy”.

Seoul is one of the fastest growing data center markets in Asia and we will continue to support this growth further for our global customers and investors”.

Our journey to establish this state-of-the-art data center in South Korea has been further enhanced by our esteemed joint venture partner, Daelim. This partnership has brought together two industry experts, combining our respective strengths to deliver unparalleled data center solutions to our clients.
“We are proud to collaborate with Daelim, a company that shares our dedication to innovation and excellence,” commented Mr Toh. “Daelim’s expertise in real estate development has complemented well with DCI’s hyperscale design and operational capabilities and track record with key customers. Together, we are setting new standards for data centre technology and services in South Korea and beyond”.

Since Brookfield acquired DCI in 2019, the platform has grown from two sites with less than 10MW to over 10 sites now with 130 MW secured under various stages of development in APAC. With a particular focus on delivering a fleet of highly certified data centres across Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra, Auckland and now Seoul, DCI has emerged as a key player to respond to global hyperscaler requirements as well as for Government and public cloud workloads.
